Preparation & Prerequisites

Before starting, get these items ready:

• USB Flash Drive: At least 8GB capacity. Must be formatted to FAT32.

• Stable Power: Connect your TV directly to a reliable power source to prevent accidental shutoffs during the flashing phase.

• Extraction Tool: WinRAR, 7-Zip, or your system's default zip extractor.

• Firmware Package: Download MTK9602_GoogleTV_R_2026.zip (Official 2026 Release)

Step-by-Step Recovery Procedure

1.Format the USB Drive:MANDATORY: Bootloader will fail on NTFS or exFAT.

Plug your USB drive into a computer. Open This PC, right-click the USB drive, select Format, and choose FAT32 as the file system.

Click Start to format. The bootloader on the COOCAA mainboard cannot detect firmware on NTFS or exFAT drives during a force boot.

2.Extract and Copy the Firmware File:

Open MTK9602_GoogleTV_R_2026.zip on your computer.

Extract the file inside named:

upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_sa_20260720.pkg

Copy this .pkg file directly to the root directory of your USB flash drive (do not put it inside any folder, and do not rename it).

3.Execute Force Update Sequence:

Since the TV is unresponsive or stuck on the boot screen, you must force the system to boot straight into the USB update routine:

1. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet.

2. Insert the USB drive into the TV's USB 2.0 port (usually black or white, avoid blue USB 3.0 ports).

3. Press and hold the physical Power Button directly on the TV set.

4. While holding the power button, plug the TV back into the wall outlet.

5. Continue holding the power button for about 15 seconds until the red indicator light blinks rapidly or you see the screen display LOADING DATA... 1%. 

   
   
   

6. Release the power button immediately once the loading screen appears.

4.Wait for Flashing to Complete:

The installation process takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes.

Do not unplug the power cord or pull out the USB drive while it updates. Once finished, the TV will automatically reboot into the standard initial setup screen.

5.Perform a Full System Reset:

Once the TV boots up, complete the setup wizard, then execute a factory reset to clear out lingering cached configuration files:

1. Press HOME on your remote.

2. Go to Settings.

3. Navigate to System > About.

4. Select Reset and confirm.
