When my Skyworth 55SUE7800 stuck on the boot screen last weekend, I tried every standard menu reset possible, but nothing worked. The TV was completely frozen. Flashing the factory firmware via a USB drive was the only fix that brought it back to life.

What You’ll Need

  • USB Flash Drive: Minimum 8GB capacity, formatted to FAT32.

  • Stable Power Outlet: Do not use loose wall sockets or extension cords that might drop power midway.

  • Extraction Tool: WinRAR, 7-Zip, or standard OS archive utility.

  • Firmware File: MTK9602_MY_GoogleTV.zip (contains upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_apeu_20250729.pkg).

Step-by-Step USB Force Update

Step 1: Format the USB Drive

  1. Insert your USB drive into a PC or Laptop.

  2. Open This PC, right-click the USB drive, and select Format.

  3. Set the file system to FAT32 and click Start.

Note: The TV's bootloader cannot read NTFS or exFAT drives while initiating a forced startup.

Step 2: Extract and Copy the Package

  1. Extract MTK9602_MY_GoogleTV.zip on your computer.

  2. Copy the file named upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_apeu_20250729.pkg straight to the root directory of your USB drive. 


  3. Keep the file outside any folders and do not rename it, or the bootloader will skip it.

Step 3: Trigger the Force Update

  1. Unplug the TV power cord directly from the wall outlet.

  2. Insert your USB drive into the TV's USB 2.0 port (usually black or white, avoid the blue USB 3.0 port).

  3. Plug the TV back into the wall power.

  4. Press and hold the physical Power Button on the TV chassis (not the remote) until the indicator LED starts blinking red or the screen displays "LOADING DATA... 1%".

  5. Release the button once the progress bar appears.

Step 4: Installation & Factory Reset

  1. Leave the TV completely untouched. The installation process takes 10 to 15 minutes.

  2. Once complete, the TV will automatically reboot into the initial Google TV setup screen.

  3. Finish the initial setup, then perform a clean factory reset to purge any leftover cache:

    • Go to HOME > Settings > System > About > Reset.
