Skyworth V6 PRO Google TV: How to Fix a Stuck or Frozen TV (Firmware Flash Guide)

How to Fix a Stuck Logo, Bootloop or Frozen Skyworth V6 PRO (50V6 PRO, 55V6 PRO, 65V6 PRO, 70V6 PRO, 75V6 PRO)

If your Skyworth V6 PRO series (50V6 PRO, 55V6 PRO, 65V6 PRO, 70V6 PRO, 75V6 PRO) Google TV is stuck on the boot logo, dropping Wi-Fi, or throwing streaming error codes, a USB force flash is usually the cleanest fix.

When a TV gets stuck in a bootloop after an Over-The-Air (OTA) update, you can't access the internal Settings menu. The only way out is pushing the firmware directly through the bootloader using a physical drive.

CRITICAL COMPATIBILITY WARNING

This firmware package (MTK9602_TH_GTV) is strictly for Skyworth units assigned to the Thailand regional partition. Do not flash this onto models purchased or targeted for other markets—doing so can corrupt your board's EEPROM or render the tuner unusable.

What This Firmware Update Fixes

Flashing this firmware completely overwrites corrupt system cache files, broken app data, and failed OTA partitions.

What You Need Before Starting

  • USB Drive: At least 8GB capacity. It must be formatted to FAT32. (The bootloader cannot read NTFS or exFAT partitions).

  • Archive Utility: WinRAR, 7-Zip, or native system zip tool to extract .zip files.

  • Stable Power: Connect your TV directly to a reliable wall socket. If power cuts mid-flash, the mainboard will brick permanently.

  • Firmware Package: MTK9602_TH_GTV.zip

    (Contains the image file: upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_apeu_20240729.pkg)

Step-by-Step USB Force Update Procedure

Read every step carefully before touching the hardware. Executing the wrong order will cause the TV to ignore the flash drive and attempt a normal boot.

1.Format the USB Flash Drive to FAT32:Mandatory bootloader requirement.

Plug your USB drive into your computer. Open File Explorer, right-click the drive, and select Format. Choose FAT32 as the File System and complete a quick format.

2.Extract and Transfer the PKG File:File must sit in the root folder without subfolders.
  1. Unzip MTK9602_TH_GTV.zip on your computer.

  2. Inside, locate the package file named:

    upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_apeu_20240729.pkg

  3. Copy this .pkg file directly into the root of your FAT32 USB drive.

(Do not leave it inside any folders or rename the file, or the bootloader will miss it).

3.Trigger the Force Flash Method:Hardware power button bypass.
  1. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet.

  2. Insert the USB drive into the TV's USB 2.0 port (usually the black or white port, not the blue USB 3.0 port).

  3. Plug the TV power cord back into the wall outlet.

  4. Immediately press and hold the physical power button on the TV chassis (not the remote).

  5. Keep holding the button down until you see the red status indicator light start blinking or the screen displays LOADING DATA... 1%

4.Let the Installation Finish:Do not disturb the device during overwrite.

Once the screen changes to UPGRADING SOFTWARE PLEASE DO NOT TURN OFF alongside a progress bar, release the power button.

The process takes 5 to 15 minutes.

  • Do NOT switch off the outlet.

  • Do NOT pull the power cord.

  • Do NOT remove the USB drive.

Once the system finish writing the new image, the TV will automatically shut off and reboot into the initial Google TV setup screen.
